How this calculator works
Your effective rate is your total processing fees divided by your total card volume for the same month. It is the single number that lets you compare offers that are priced differently — flat rate, tiered, or interchange-plus.
Use the totals from one full month of your statement. Include every fee you were charged, not just the per-transaction rate: monthly fees, PCI fees, batch fees, and chargeback fees all count.
