FAQ for Chicago operators
Does PalomaPOS work for Chicago restaurants and bars?
Yes — PalomaPOS is built first for U.S. restaurants and bars: full-service and quick-service restaurants, bars and lounges, and the cafés, bakeries and food trucks around them in Chicago. POS software is $0/month with PalomaPOS processing, month-to-month with no cancellation fee, and our team supports you in English and Spanish, Monday–Friday 9 AM – 6 PM ET.
Can Chicago operators use the PalomaPOS cash discount program?
Yes — a cash discount program is available. We provide the signage and the POS handles the math, and we walk you through the card-network and state rules that apply where you operate before you turn it on.
How does setup work for a Chicago restaurant?
Setup is remote. Menu build and data migration are included: we build your menu, set up your devices and train your team by video call, and the hardware ships to you. Hardware is at cost, or free placement for qualifying processing volume. The timeline depends on your menu and hardware, and we agree on a go-live date with you.
What happens if the internet goes down during service?
Orders, cash payments, printing, the kitchen display, and devices on the same local network keep working, and everything syncs when you're back online. Card payments can continue offline only through the offline mode of Valor terminals, and each device needs to reach the cloud at least once every 15 days.
Can I switch to PalomaPOS from Toast, Square or Clover?
Yes. Menu build and data migration are included, your data is yours, and the hardware isn't proprietary. The agreement is month-to-month with no cancellation fee — if you leave, you send the terminal back. A person will review your current processing statement for free before you decide.
